I really didn’t know how much I’d like this album, but I ended up really loving it mainly because of this song. It’s so different from all their other songs in their repertoire because it’s so much slower and simpler and downplayed (I think this is what I mean?). It’s totally unexpected from this rock rah-rah-rah group and reminds me of why I loved Rilo Kiley (RIP) so much. It really lets the emotions behind the lyrics shine. It’s an amazing song. I love it.
“Just because you have the power and the right to tell a story doesn’t mean you should do it. If it costs you nothing to leave a little precious light shining in a dark place, why on earth would you extinguish it?”—Heather Anne Hogan speaks the goddamn truth.
A biologist, a chemist, and a statistician are out hunting. The biologist shoots at a deer and misses 5ft to the left, the chemist takes a shot and misses 5ft to the right, the statistician yells “We got ‘em!”
